At Horizons, education is a team effort where staff, students, parents and community members work together to provide the structure and support that will prepare students for the challenges of today and the opportunities of tomorrow.

Horizons is a private boarding school, registered with the Ontario Ministry of Education, that offers a personalized, fun and engaging learning environment. As a small school, Horizons is a close-knit and inclusive community that fosters a sense of connection and respect that allows our students to thrive both in and out of the classroom. It also helps us maintain a learning environment with high standards while always looking out for the safety and well-being of each student.

Horizons staff are passionate and committed to providing a quality education for our students. Small class sizes means every student receives individual support from their OCT certified teachers. In order to inspire and engage our students, the Ontario Curriculum is taught in a manner that goes beyond the textbook to real world applications and important life skills.

Students are encouraged to strive for excellence through continual improvement in all aspects of their life, be it course work, community outreach or in the variety of extra-curricular activities offered at Horizons.

I consider myself very fortunate to be a part of the Horizons community. I take great pride and pleasure in seeing our students thrive during and after their studies with us. I invite you to become part of our learning community and reach out with any questions you may have.

“When I was touring my University as a student ambassador in my freshman year, I appreciated Horizons for preparing me and allowing me to grow into someone my family was proud of. The Yearbook Team at Horizons was my start to learning how to make a difference with small steps and gradually achieving large leaps.”

Joshua Chen (2018 Graduate, University of Toronto)

I didn’t expect such a smooth transition when I first came to Horizons as a grade 10 student. I owe a lot to my teachers and classmates who shaped me into who I am today. Owing to the practice that I received in Horizons, I successfully found a position in my department at UofT as a teaching assistant. Special thanks to Mr. Dibben, Mrs. Dempsey, Ms. Belo and Mrs. Brewer. You are an inspiration to my academic life."

Sarah Belo (Teacher & Head of Mathematics, 2019)

One of the things I appreciate most about Horizons is the opportunities and activities that are provided for the students. I don’t know of any other school that provides as many new and enriching activities for students as Horizons does. I have had the chance to participate in once-in-a-lifetime activities that are educational, fun and enriching. I feel so fortunate that I can be a part of a school like this.”
