Guidance offers students direction and assistance throughout their time at Horizons. We provide academic and post-secondary support by assisting with course selection, tracking OSSD requirements, post-secondary options and applications. The Guidance department also offers social-emotional support for students who need someone to talk to about a variety of concerns including but not limited to: anxiety, motivation, challenges with classwork, dorm life, culture shock....
Post-Secondary Plans & Tours
Horizons Guidance team assists students in learning about their post-secondary options and throughout the entire application process. One-on-one guidance is provided throughout the year to ensure students are on track to receive their OSSD and meet the admission requirements of their University/Colleges of interest. In addition site visits to post-secondary institutions are arranged as well as small group information sessions to help prepare students for life after high school.
Health & Safety
Horizons staff ensure that students remain healthy and active. The school and dorms are locked with entry points under camera surveillance. With the fire station in our backyard, police station across the street and the hospital a short 5 minutes away all emergency services are close by.

ESL & IELTS Training
Students can receive small group and one-on-one English training to improve their English skills and prepare for their post-secondary IELTS requirement.
International students under the age of 18 must have a guardian who is English speaking, a Canadian citizen is over the age of 18 and resides in Ontario. Horizons can assistant in arranging guardianship.
VISA & Study Permit Assistance
Horizons staff are available to help both students and parents with VISA and study permit applications.
Airport Pick-Up & Drop-Off
A shuttle to and from the airport is available at the start and end of each school year.
